It is hard to find good baklava. I like it rich in nuts and non-flaky. There is a place in Newtown, Sydney that sells baklava that I would rate a 9 on a scale of 10. Tucked at the head of Newtown, closest to the University of Sydney site, Rowda Ya Habibi is a small Lebanese restaurant that offers all things home-made. Whenever I go to Newtown, I will automatically head towards this resto to get some baklava treats.
I get to have this sweet take-away box. It’s very presentable as a gift.
The baklava is rich in pistachioes and peanuts and the pastry is held together nicely without crumbling. It is sufficiently soaked in honey. Yum! What decadence! Just one piece will give me a quick energy fix.
Sinking my teeth into a piece of honey-soaked Baklava and slowly savouring its sweet nutty goodness is one way to unwind. Best accompanied with mint tea.
Do know where else one can get good quality Baklava?
I find myself coming to your blog more and more often to the point where my visits are almost daily now!
