SWEET POTATO CRAVINGS

Sweet potatoes are best eaten boiled or roasted. Rich in Vitamins A (betacarotene) and C, they go well with toasted bread amongst other vegetables like cucumber and tomatoes. Both Vitamins A and C are powerful antioxidants that work in the body to remove free radicals that damage cells. Sweet potatoes are said to help prevent cancer in glands and organs with epithelial tissue due to its high Vitamin A content. It also is beneficial for low blood pressure. This means we can have them guilt-free at any time.

I love eating cut pieces of the tuber boiled, microwaved or roasted. To make them even tastier, sprinkle the pieces with pepper and cut parsley to give them a savoury twist. They can be taken as a snack at peckish moments in place of less nutritious snacks sold in packets. I must say, a few pieces of sweet potatoes keep me full till dinner.
